WHAT IS ST ANDREWS DAY?

St Andrews Day is the feast day of Andrew the Apostle and is celebrated every year in Scotland on the 30 November. In 1320, St Andrew officially became the patron saint of Scotland when the country's independence was declared with the signing of The Declaration of Arbroath.

In fact, St Andrews Day is a Bank Holiday in Scotland. It is said the X on the Scottish flag originated with the St Andrews Cross.

Despite the fact that little is known of the man himself, St. Andrew has been pivotal in shaping not only Scottish society but the societies of numerous other countries around the world. In fact, some of his relics are still in Scotland today, which people travel from far and wide to pay homage to.

Our AGM will take place at 6PM. Dinner at 6:30. (It is FREE to attend the AGM. To stay for the meal you must purchase an advance ticket.) The AGM includes swearing in of new officers and reading of financial data. We will be live streaming the AGM portion of the evening. Immediately following the AGM we will have our St Andrew's Day Celebration.

Craig MacIntosh was a valuable member of the Scottish community, Clan MacIntosh convener, and former President of the St Andrews Society of Utah.
